Next, travel through the scenic Great Rift Valley into the legendary Serengeti, where full-day game drives reveal the park’s incredible biodiversity. The adventure concludes with a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Begin your adventure with a drive to Tarangire National Park, a landscape defined by majestic baobabs and large elephant herds. Enjoy an afternoon game drive to spot lions, giraffes, zebras, and over 400 bird species. Later, check in at your lodge or camp and enjoy a relaxed evening surrounded by the wilderness.
After breakfast, head to the Serengeti, crossing the Great Rift Valley and the Ngorongoro Highlands. Along the way, watch the scenery change from lush highlands to sweeping plains. Enter the Serengeti for an afternoon game drive, where you’ll start encountering its famed wildlife, from lions and cheetahs to elephants and wildebeest. Overnight in a Serengeti lodge or tented camp.
Spend the day on morning and afternoon game drives across the Serengeti, a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. Depending on the season, you might witness the awe-inspiring Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras move across the plains in search of fresh grazing. Even outside the migration, the Serengeti offers incredible sightings of the Big Five and more. Return to camp for dinner and stargazing.
Take a final early morning game drive in the Serengeti before traveling toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. En route, you may stop at a Maasai village for a cultural experience. By evening, arrive at your lodge on the crater rim, where panoramic views of the Ngorongoro Crater provide a stunning backdrop for the night.
Today you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” The crater floor is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, including a healthy population of black rhinos. With luck, you may complete your Big Five checklist in a single day. After a picnic lunch in the crater, begin your return journey, concluding your unforgettable safari.
