Mount Meru is challenging but less crowded than Kilimanjaro. The trek requires a good fitness level, and altitude can affect climbers, but it’s considered slightly easier than Kilimanjaro while still offering stunning views and wildlife encounters.

The ideal months are during the dry seasons, from June to October and late December to February. Trails are clearer, and the chances of rain disrupting your climb are lower.

While prior hiking experience is helpful, Mount Meru can be climbed by fit beginners with proper preparation. Guided tours provide support, meals, and acclimatization strategies to make the trek safer and enjoyable.

Regular cardio exercises, strength training, and long walks or hikes with a backpack are recommended in the months leading up to the climb. Proper training helps with endurance and makes the altitude easier to manage.
